Swansea University Alumni Event in Qatar Hosted by University Foundation College

On 18th February 2024, University Foundation College (UFC) proudly hosted the Swansea University Alumni Event in Qatar at La Maison Hotel Doha. The event brought together Swansea graduates, industry professionals, and distinguished guests to celebrate shared achievements, strengthen alumni connections, and explore future opportunities.
The gathering featured an inspiring speech from Professor David Smith, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean for the Faculty of Science and Engineering, who highlighted Swansea University’s rich history and future aspirations. His address reinforced the university’s commitment to academic excellence and the global impact of its alumni network.
Graham Burton, Principal of University Foundation College, shared exciting future plans that align with UFC’s strategic vision. He emphasised the college’s role as a key pathway provider for students aspiring to study in the UK and beyond, reinforcing UFC’s commitment to academic partnerships and student success.
Dr. Waseem Kotoub, Country Director in Qatar at the British Council, provided valuable insights into the UK’s reputation as a top global education destination. He highlighted the British Council’s role in expanding UK alumni networks worldwide, particularly in Qatar. Dr. Kotoub encouraged Swansea University alumni to join the British Council UK Alumni Network, giving them access to exclusive opportunities and collaborations.
Dr. Mahaboob Basha played a pivotal role in uniting the Swansea alumni community, fostering meaningful connections and reinforcing the Qatar-UK academic partnership. His commitment to alumni engagement was instrumental in the event’s success.
