The NCUK International Foundation Year (IFY) qualification is specifically catered for international students to provide the skills necessary to succeed at university.
Students who enroll on the IFY qualification can progress to the second year of a bachelor’s degree in the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA. The programme is unique which is taught within one year, is assessed through examinations and coursework and incorporates the English for Academic Purposes module. The EAP course prepares each student for success at UK and worldwide universities by improving reading, writing, listening and speaking – focusing on academic vocabulary and independent study skills.
The IFY programme equips each student with adequate English skills and academic qualifications for studying and living in the UK and other worldwide destinations.
*UK bachelor’s degrees after completing the International Foundation Year are three years long, whereas American bachelor’s degrees are normally four years long.
The NCUK International Foundation Year (IFY) prepares international students for entry into the first year of undergraduate degree courses. The NCUK IFY offers you a choice of streams in Science/Medicine, Engineering, Business, Humanities and Art & Design; each stream contains a different combination of three subject modules to fit the requirements of your chosen degree.
You will also study NCUK’s ‘English for Academic Purposes’ (EAP) module to improve your language ability and meet the English requirement for admission to your preferred degree programme.
