NCC Level 4 Diploma in Computing

The NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (L4DC) is an Ofqual-regulated qualification, equivalent to the first year of a three year Computing or IT degree within the UK university system.

Students develop essential thinking and study skills, not only within the computing domain, but also within the context of business through a balance of academic and vocational subjects. 

Upon successful completion of the Level 4 Diploma in Computing, students can progress directly to the second year of a UK Bachelor’s degree at a university or pursue a career in the IT industry.

*UK bachelor’s degrees after completing the NCC Level 4 Diploma in Computing are two years long.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To apply for the NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (L4DC), students must meet at least one of the following entry requirements:

  • NCC Education Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies (L3IFDHES).

       OR

  • NCC Education Level 3 Diploma in Computing (L3DC). 

       OR

  • An International qualification that deemed to be a similar level to the NCC Education L3IFDHES. This shall be agreed with NCC Education in advance

       OR

  • One GCSE ‘A’ Level or equivalent, or an appropriate School Leavers’ certificate deemed to be of a similar level. This shall be agreed with NCC Education in advance.

       OR

  • Mature students, able to demonstrate over two years’ relevant work experience and have an ‘O’ Level/GCSE/iGCSE English and Maths or equivalent.

AND

For candidates whose first language is not English:

  • IELTS 5.5 or equivalent. 

       OR

  • GCSE/iGCSE ‘O’ Level English ‘C’ ‘4’ or equivalent*

       OR

  • Alternatively, students can take and pass the NCC Education Higher English Placement Test at University Foundation College. 

*Centres need to provide evidence to justify any equivalency decision (both qualification equivalency and grade equivalency) they make pertaining to any enrolments via non-GCSE or non standard routes.

ACADEMIC PROGRESSION

Students who complete the NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (L4DC) can progress to the second year of a three-year Bachelor’s degree at a university or pursue a career in the IT industry.
