Student Outreach and Admissions Officer

Position: Student Outreach and Admissions Officer
Reporting to: Director of Admissions and Marketing  
 
Duties and responsibilities: 

The role exists within the Admissions and Marketing team. It supports all staff within the team, besides providing an excellent customer-focused service to potential students, their school counsellors and parents. The role will also involve processing admissions, sending out offer letters, updating databases, and dealing with telephone and email enquiries. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have good attention to detail.

Duties will involve:

  • Planning, scheduling, and delivering presentations to potential students (In-person/Online) through schools’ visits, schools’ career fairs and exhibitions.
  • Building and maintaining engagement with a network of target schools, implementing a process for school communication, monitoring performance and regular events with key schools.
  • Counselling Students/Parents, whether via phone, email, or in person. Providing accurate information regarding the requirements, programme details and progression routes.
  • Following up aggressively on the system enquiries and updating the CRM regularly by adding new potential enquiries or adding touchpoints to track the follow-up with current ones.
  • Nurturing enquiries and applications to ensure a higher level of conversions.
  • Reviewing and assessing applications, then deciding the term of the applicant’s eligibility to enrol in the programme, adhering to the admissions policy of UFC programmes.
  • Generating and interpreting reports from the admissions CRM to showcase work-in-progress (volume and timescales). This task will involve analysing data from multiple sources alongside qualitative information to identify pressure points, highlighting them to the line manager as appropriate and proposing solutions or even changes to the process.
  • Liaising with the regional and marketing teams of the UFC programme providers. Ensuring an up-to-date flow of information and organising the needed recruitment events for the Qatari market.
  • Reviewing the UFC website and ensuring content updates are aligned with the programme providers’ changes and updates.
  • Reporting any system bugs and proposing solutions and upgrades.
  • Handling any other tasks assigned to you by your line manager.

To apply for the role, you need to have:

  • Good proven experience of student recruitment (Local and international) in a higher education environment.
  • Experience of working in a target-focused role with evidence of successfully meeting targets and managing enquiries.
  • Good knowledge of university admissions systems and progression process to UK higher education. Understanding of UCAS processes and recruitment cycle, OR a demonstrable ability to work in a regulated sales environment, and an aptitude to learn.
  • Good educational background to at least GCSE standards, or equivalent, including excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written, to ensure clear communication with students/parents with different age groups and backgrounds.
  • Awareness and understanding of the progression requirements to UK universities.
  • Good understanding of KPIs and reporting.
  • Ability to use systems like CRMs and content management systems.
  • UK education background
  • Willingness to work on weekends and in the evenings if need be.

Position Requirements:

Education: Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree or qualification in a relevant subject/education.

Experience: Minimum 3 Years’ experience working in the education sector as an admission officer or as part of the Admission and Marketing team.

Physics and Math Lecturer (Full/Part Time)

Position Summary: To teach on either the NCUK International Foundation Year (IFY), or the NCC International Foundation Diploma as appropriate; To act as a tutor/co-tutor to a group of students and any other duty assigned by the Head of Academics/ Principal.

Duties:

  • To take attendance of students in the tutor group
  • To teach International Foundation Year (IFY) students at specified periods in the timetable
  • To prepare lesson plans and a scheme of work/programme of study for the classes to be taught
  • To prepare a course handbook for the subject area under the following headings:
  1. Introduction to the subject area
  2. Course expectations
  3. Aims and objectives of the subject area.
  4. Structure of lessons
  5. Syllabus structure
  6. Brief Summary of each unit of the syllabus
  7. Reading Lists/Material
  • To give continuous assessment tests when due and ensure the marks are ready on specified dates given in order to meet deadlines for sending reports.
  • Be involved or assist in organising extracurricular activities within college.
  • Be involved in invigilating students in internal examinations as well as during the entrance examinations conducted for new students. Entrance examinations are sometimes scheduled Saturdays.
  • To give pastoral care to a group of students.
  • To participate in any cross-college CPD as and when required.
  • Create and complete student perception questionnaires on entry, in December and January as a minimum.
  • Create and improve the use of the VLE and record and monitor student attendance and progress as directed.
  • Maintain standards expected by awarding bodies, industry and students.
  • Work with other lecturers to identify and support those students at risk of non-completion of their programme.
  • Support the team of specialist and vocational teachers to embed skills in the subjects they deliver.
  • Prepare teaching materials and practical exercises in line with the syllabus and in conjunction with NCUK and NCC programmes of study.
  • Attend and participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) as and when required.
  • Undertake such other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as may reasonably be required.

Finance and Accounting Lecturer (Full/Part Time)

Position Summary: To teach Accounting and Finance in our International Year One (IYOne) in Business.

The NCUK IYOne in Business programme is a first-year undergraduate equivalent programme and prepares students for progression to second-year (FHEQ Level 5) undergraduate study in business or related disciplines in NCUK partner universities. To act as a tutor/co-tutor to a group of students and any other duty assigned by the Head of Academics/ Principal.

Duties:

  • To prepare a course handbook for the subject area under the following headings:

Education: Business: Masters or equivalent level and/or professional qualifications in a relevant subject area (Essential).  For the delivery of the International Year One Accounting and Finance, teachers must be a members of a relevant professional body e.g. CAEW, ICAS, CIPFA, CIMA or ACCA.

Experience: Minimum 5 years (Essential). This experience should relate to the delivery of a Western-style syllabus using Western conventions and methodologies.  Significant teaching/qualification management experience at a reputable university may also be acceptable.
